Bold, brave, and blisteringly hot, Tango has launched its first ever, limited edition hot sauce, Tang Reaper, an extra spicy sauce not for the faint hearted. Known for its bold flavour, Tango has taken things up a notch by combining the world’s hottest pepper, the Carolina Reaper, and ghost chillies, with its signature tangy orange twist.
The Tang Reaper sauce uses Carolina Reaper peppers which have a Scoville heat rating of a staggering 1.6 million units; 300 times spicier than a Jalapeño. The Carolina Reaper has even been known to rival pepper spray in potency. And here’s the kicker – Tang Reaper is further intensified with ghost pepper, giving it an unforgettable, fearsome kick that truly lives up to its name.
Those who dare to face Tang Reaper can expect a journey through the heat spectrum. At first, a citrussy hit, followed by a numbing sensation which takes over the tongue, followed by a fierce, fiery burn that travels from mouth to throat. But it doesn’t stop there – the heat intensifies as eyes start to water and sweat begins to form. The fiery sensation lingers for up to 5 minutes before eventually giving way to a burst of endorphins, leaving some feeling a rush of euphoria known as a "chilli high."
Developed in partnership with the spice artisans at South Devon Chilli Farm, Tang Reaper doesn’t just bring the heat; it brings a nuanced, tangy orange finish that makes it as flavourful as it is fiery. “Tang Reaper is more than just a hot sauce; it’s a full-on sensory experience,” said Victoria Burridge, Brand Manager at Tango. “We wanted to create something bold, balanced, and undeniably Tango – with a spice intensity that’s not for the faint of heart.”
Due to its extreme heat, anyone daring enough to try Tang Reaper should be strictly supervised and take safety precautions like wearing gloves and avoiding contact with eyes and skin.

It will also be available at northern fried chicken specialist and fast-food chain Nabzy’s featuring in special menu items such as the Chicken Fillet Burger [£7.79 and Chicken Wing roulette meal deal [£7.79]. It will be available at all 11 of its locations such as Preston, Liverpool and Manchester, and via Deliveroo, Just Eat and Uber Eats.
