On Monday 25 November, the UK Government laid regulations for the deposit scheme for drinks containers before Parliament.
Paul Graham, Britvic Managing Director in Great Britain, said: “This week the UK Government has laid the regulations for the deposit return scheme before Parliament.
"At Britvic we welcome this as a positive step forward, building momentum for a proven circular economy solution for drinks containers.
"Such a scheme will increase collection and recycling rates – exactly what we need as an industry to ensure a supply of uncontaminated, food-grade used packaging which can be re-used multiple times.
"We’ll work relentlessly across industry and government to deliver this scheme by October 2027.”
