Leading soft drinks company, Britvic, is delighted to announce that it has been shortlisted for the 2017 GreenFleet Awards in the ‘Private Sector Fleet of the Year’ category.
At Britvic, which is home to household brands such as Robinsons, R Whites and J2O, building the trust and respect of its communities and helping to create a healthier planet is fundamental to its business strategy. In 2016 the company was awarded ‘Go Ultra Low Company’ status; an initiative backed by the government and automotive industry, recognising companies committed to increasing their fleet of electric vehicles. As part of its commitment, Britvic set a target to increase its use of electric and alternative fuel vehicles to 10% of its total fleet by 2020.
Alison Rothnie, Senior Sustainable Business Manager at Britvic comments: “We are delighted to have been shortlisted for the GreenFleet awards for the work we have been doing to promote the use of alternative fuel vehicles across our fleet. From installing charging points across our sites in Great Britain, to actively engaging with employees to demonstrate the total cost/benefit of hybrid vehicles, as well as our Executive Team championing the use of alternative fuels.
“With this continued focus, we have smashed our target, with the total representation of electric and alternative fuel vehicles currently at 18% of our total car fleet and over 30% of new orders are for hybrid vehicles. This means our current average CO2/km for our car fleet is 103g/km.”
“We are really proud to have been recognised for our efforts amongst such an impressive line-up of companies who are all leading the way in green fleet management.”
Winners will be announced at a ceremony on 23rd November at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry. For more details and the full shortlist, visit http://www.greenfleetawards.co.uk/.
