After nine successful years in Britvic, CMO Matt Barwell has decided to leave the company at the end of June. Matt joined Britvic in 2014, having held a series of senior marketing roles at Diageo and Mars, and has served as a key member of the Britvic Executive team.
During his time at Britvic, Matt has successfully improved the way the company builds brands, strengthened our marketing capability and in-housed our digital resource. He has overseen award-winning work on iconic brands such as Robinsons, J2O and Tango. He has been central to building a broader international footprint for the business, through the launch of brands such as London Essence mixers and sodas, and through acquisitions in Brazil. Matt has also played a pivotal role in the creation of the company’s Healthier People, Healthier Planet sustainability strategy.
Britvic has today confirmed the appointment of Cindy Tervoort as CMO, with effect from 1 July 2023. Cindy will join Britvic from Heineken PLC, where she is currently managing director for Beerwulf.com. Before this, she spent five years as a Board Member of Heineken UK, leading the marketing of all their 24 beer and cider brands, as well as the company’s digital transformation, consumer media, innovation, category, and trade marketing. Cindy is a highly experienced international marketer, with deep FMCG knowledge and experience gained at Unilever and PepsiCo, as well as Heineken.
Commenting on today’s announcement, Britvic CEO, Simon Litherland said: “I am excited to welcome Cindy to Britvic at this time, as we continue to grow our reputation for world class brand building through marketing and innovation. I would also like to personally thank Matt for his contribution to the success of Britvic over almost a decade, and wish him well for the future.”
